Motherhood can be joyful, messy, and sometimes isolating, something Katie, founder of Mama’s Little Black Book and mum to two energetic boys, knows well. Originally from Yorkshire and now settled in Barley, she understands first-hand how lonely parenthood can feel when you’re somewhere new and trying to find your village.
That experience inspired Mama’s Little Black Book, a one-stop community and directory designed to make family life a little easier. What began as a local idea has grown into a trusted hub connecting families across Royston and Cambridgeshire with local experts, events, family discounts, and, most importantly, each other.
At its heart, Mama’s Little Black Book celebrates connection and community. Katie’s mission is simple: to help parents find the right support when they need it, create connections that combat loneliness, and guide families through every stage, from pregnancy to the school years and beyond.
Through her work, Katie is reminding parents that they don’t have to do it alone, proving that even in today’s busy, digital world, the village still exists, and reminding us all that connection is something worth celebrating.
