Flat Iron, renowned for their exceptional steaks at affordable prices, is thrilled to announce the opening of their newest restaurant in the heart of Cambridge this July. Nestled on Market Street, this 120-seat establishment is set to capture the palates and hearts of locals and visitors alike.
Prepare to be wowed by the restaurant’s focused menu, showcasing their signature ‘Flat Iron’ steak. This delectable cut is derived from the often underestimated featherblade, celebrated for its remarkable flavour, tenderness, and juiciness when expertly butchered. Accompanying this star attraction are beloved sides like beef dripping chips, creamed spinach, truffled macaroni cheese, and crispy bone marrow garlic mash. And that’s not all! The Cambridge restaurant will also feature a rotating board of specials, including Scottish bavette, Flat Iron sirloin, and an exciting new burger, tantalizingly crafted with beef sourced from Flat Iron’s very own herd in Thirsk, Yorkshire.
To complement the culinary delights, Flat Iron presents a curated selection of wines, including their exclusive Malbec, crafted by the skilled Flat Iron team using grapes grown in the Limoux region of southern France. This wine is a testament to their commitment to providing a truly exceptional dining experience. The drinks list will also feature a range of draft beers and the restaurant’s signature cocktails, ensuring there’s something to satisfy every palate.
Housed in a splendid Victorian building, just moments away from Market Square, Great St Mary’s Church, and various college buildings, the two-floor restaurant exudes charm and elegance. The interiors, masterfully designed by Clare Nash and Applied Studio, pay homage to the building’s rich history, with original features beautifully restored, including the timber floors and white brick tiles. This distinctive style carries throughout the restaurant, both inside and out, with the exterior painstakingly restored to capture its original allure. The curved front facade glazing and stunning green tiles adorning the external pillars create an inviting and visually striking presence on this bustling street.
